They are called external lists.<\/p>\n<h3>Different kinds of external lists.<\/h3>\n<p>Kizeo Forms has\u00a0several kinds of lists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The regular List: it is just a basic\u00a0list.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/understanding-using-hierarchical-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hierarchical List<\/a>: This is a list that has several levels (up to 9), meaning that you can narrow down your selection with categories. For instance, it can be a list to select a location. The first level of this list will allow you to choose between several Countries. After selecting one country, the second level will let you choose between several states or region within this country. After selecting the state or region, the third level will allow you to select a city. And so on\u2026<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/understanding-the-referential-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Referential List:<\/a>\u00a0this list will be\u00a0connected to one or several fields (up to 49) of your forms. This means that when you select an item in your list, the field linked to this list will be filled automatically. For instance, you have a list of customers with their contact details. When you will select the name of one\u00a0customer, it will automatically fill the address field, the e-mail address field, etc.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/referential-hierarchical-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Referential-Hierarchical List<\/a>: It is a combination of the Hierarchical List and the Referential List. Meaning that first you will have a list with several levels to narrow down your selection. After you selected one item, it will automatically fill several fields of your form.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/code-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The list with codes<\/a>: when you import an Excel file, it allows you to give to each one of your items a specific code or name that can be different from\u00a0the name you see when you are filling your form. For instance, it can be the name of a product\u00a0replaced by its store reference.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/understanding-using-filtered-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The filtered list:<\/a> this list gives you the option to choose\u00a0which part of the external list each user will\u00a0be able to see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1. Create your External lists.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You work in a\u00a0real estate agency. \u00a0For each house or apartment you visit, you need to check the <strong>condition of the ceilings and walls<\/strong>. For each room, you always have to check the same items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seepage<\/li>\n<li>Rising water<\/li>\n<li>Recent stains\/rings<\/li>\n<li>Black spots<\/li>\n<li>Mould<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Save time by creating a list called\u00a0\u201cCondition of ceilings and walls\u201d that you will re-use for each room you inspect. To learn more about how to create a list from an Excel file, read <a href=\"\/\/kizeoformscom.kinsta.cloud\/en\/create-external-lists-on-excel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #95c01f;\">Tip:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0If you are going to make some changes on your list, you can upload an empty excel file and use the <strong>Change &amp; Add<\/strong> option. This way, you will import the new items of your list and without erasing the former\u00a0ones. Feel free to read our tutorial on how to modify an external list.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Step\u00a02.\u00a0Insert your External list in your form.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Now\u00a0create a new form and insert a\u00a0<strong>List<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>item<\/li>\n<li>Go into your\u00a0<strong>List<\/strong>\u00a0features\u00a0by clicking on the green pencil icon<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>Features\u00a0tab<\/strong>, and then in the <strong>External list<\/strong>\u00a0scroll bar, select your list.
